Say hello to Sterling the mottled grey horse! This handmade plushie stands about 36 cm tall and is semi-posable, meaning that it is able to alter between basic standing and sitting positions. It is made in a lifelike style, using super soft rabbit style fur, and features many intricate details, such as fully handsewn markings, realistic hooves and a detailed muzzle with actual nostrils. There's even a cute little pink tongue, that can be tucked away inside the mouth. All in all this plushie is made from a whopping 114 individual pieces, most of which are handsewn!
Sterling isn't modelled after any particular horse breed. He has a petite body build and is made with frosted grey fur that gives his body a mottled grey appearance. Sterling's mane and tail are of a medium grey color. He has a grey muzzle with dark lips.
This lifelike looking plushie is available for purchase and is ready to be shipped. As with all items in my store, Sterling was originally designed by me. He has been made in an environment free of cigarette smoke and perfume, but not entierly pet free as I have cats.
Sterling's body is made from a single shade of super soft rabbit style faux fur, with an extra short pile length of 5 mm. The mane and tail are made of high quality faux fur with a pile length of roughly 60 mm. Short pile minky has been used for the furry parts of the muzzle and upholstery grade velour for the tongue. The hooves and the insides of the nostrils are made with synthetic suede, a fabric that is made to resemble brushed leather and has a soft feel to it. The hoof bottoms are made from a combination of thick felt, faux suede and embroidery, giving them detail and dimension. The plushie has been fitted with 12 mm plastic safety eyes, which are lined with black imitate leather to improve their shape and to make them more lifelike. Safety eyes have also been used to fasten the ears, allowing them to alter position. Foam inserts, plastic and fabric membranes have been added in places to lend shape and stability. The legs are sealed off from the rest of the body, allowing them to be stuffed firmly enough to carry the weight of the the body, while the rest of the plushie is stuffed more lightly. Plastic beads have been added to the hooves for extra weight.
This plushie is best used as an ornamental piece for indoors decoration purposes. It is not suitable as a toy and should be kept away from young children and pets at all times. It can be used for play with older children if handled gently. Keep in mind though, that this is an artist doll. It is a work of art and not a toy. The plushie can't be washed if it gets dirty and may easily get damaged.
