It is made in a lifelike style and features many intricate details, such as realistic cloven hooves and a detailed muzzle with proper mouth and nostrils. There's even a cute little pink tongue, that can be tucked away inside the mouth. All in all this plushie is made from a whopping 97 handsewn pieces!
This beautifully marked plushie was inspired by they Jersey cow, one of my favorite breeds of cattle. Jersey cattle is a british breed of small dairy cows, that originate from the Jersey island. Little is known about how they got there, but DNA analysis suggests ties to ancient cattle first domesticated in Asia. The milk these cows produce is unusually rich in butterfat, which makes it great for rich dairy products like cheese, butter and ice cream.
Jersey cows are easy to tell apart from most other breeds, both by coloration and a more petite and fine limbed appearance in general. This dark eyed breed comes in almost every shade of brown, combined with lighter coloration around the muzzle, eyes and lower parts of the body. The nose is always dark in true Jersey cows. The color of individuals in this breed tends to shift a lot, depending on age and time of year. Margery is a fawn colored Jersey. Her main body color is pale brown. She sports all of the above mentioned markings, along with a black tail tip and dark feet.
This plushie will be recreated upon order. It will be made in an environment free of cigarette smoke and perfume, but not entierly pet free as I have cats.
As with all items in my store, this plushie was originally designed by me and will also be reproduced by me. A lot of effort and care goes into making a lifelike plushie like this. Particularly into the many details of the head and and feet, which contain many tiny parts that are notoriously hard to assemble, but also into sewing all the markings and trimming the excess fur. Once finished, this plush stands approximately 30 cm tall and measures around 41 cm from nose to butt.
The body will be made from a combination of some of my best faux furs. The fur used for the main portion of the body is very realistic and has a pile length of 10 mm. The fur that will be used for the markings on the head has a longer pile, and will be trimmed by hand, to match the other furs. The tip of the tail will be made from wooly faux fur with a pile length of 90 mm. Both nose and feet will be made with synthetic suede, a fabric that is made to resemble brushed leather and has a soft feel to it. Minky will be used for the furry parts of the snout and upholstery grade velour for the tongue. The plush will be fitted with plastic safety eyes that measure 14 mm across and are fastened with washers. Imitate leather will be used to outline the eyes to improve their shape and to make them more life like. The body will be stuffed with siliconized polyester fibers until firm enough for the plush to stand properly. Finally thread sculpting will be added to improve the shape of the head and body.
