--------------------------------------------
Kygo the mule plushie was commissioned by the owner of the real Kygo. It is made with super soft rabbit style fur, and features customized markings, a new ear size and an extra fluffy forhead. Special attention and effort has gone into replicating the mixture of colors found in Kygo's sunbleached mane and tail, which have been created through a combination of sewn markings, layering of furs and insertion of tiny tufts of different color for a mixed effect. This adorable looking plushie is made from a whopping 154 pieces (not counting the 100+ tufts, that have all been individually inserted and tied into place). It stands about 38 cm tall and has a floppy body, making it able to alter between standing and sitting positions. Kygo was commissioned together with a handmade collar and cute winter outfit to keep him warm in winter.
A lot of effort and care has gone into making this plushie as lifelike as possible. The head is very rich in details. It features moving ears and a detailed muzzle with proper nostrils and a little tongue, that can be tucked away inside the mouth. The hooves have been given just as much attention and sport realistic looking hoof bottoms, with embroidered details and 3D-inserts for added depth. Every one of these tiny details and the above mentioned markings have been sewn by hand. Planning and production time for this plushie was 62 hours over a period of 15 days, with an added 6 hours for the accessories.
This lifelike looking plushie was made in an environment free of cigarette smoke and perfume, but not pet free as I have cats.
Kygo's body is made from three shades of rabbit style faux fur, with a pile length of around 8 mm. The mane and tail are made of four shades of high quality faux fur with a pile length of roughly 60 mm. The furry forehead is made from high quality faux fur, with frosted tips and a pile length of 20 mm. Short pile minky has been used for the muzzle and insides of the ears, and upholstery grade velour for the tongue. The hooves and the insides of the nostrils are made with synthetic suede, a fabric that is made to resemble brushed leather and has a soft feel to it. The hoof bottoms are made from a combination of thick felt, faux suede and embroidery, giving them detail and dimension. The plushie has been fitted with 12 mm plastic safety eyes, which are lined with black imitate leather to improve their shape and to make them more lifelike. Safety eyes have also been used to fasten the ears, allowing them to alter position. Foam inserts, plastic and fabric membranes have been added in places to lend shape and stability. The legs are sealed off from the rest of the body, allowing them to be stuffed firmly enough to carry the weight of the the body, while the rest of the plushie is stuffed more lightly. Plastic beads have been added to the hooves for extra weight..
This artist made plushie is intended for use by teenagers or adults. It is incredibly rare and highly collectible, as it has only been created once up to this point. It is best used for indoors decoration purposes and/or as a photo prop. The quality of the plushie is such, that it is unlikely to break from gentle play or the occational hug, but it is not a toy. It was never created with play or excessive handling in mind, and should be kept away from young children and pets at all times. The plushie can not be washed if it gets dirty, without risking marker bleed-through or quality changes to the fur. The tiny details of the muzzle and feet are also very susceptible to damage.
